# Request access

> How to get a staging PMS credential, then a production one.

The Tatallo PMS API has no self-service sign-up. You ask for access by email, and Tatallo issues your PMS credentials.

## Ask for a key

Email [developers@tatallo.com](mailto:developers@tatallo.com) with:

* your company name;
* a technical contact (name and email) for API matters;
* the PMS accounts you want to connect: the hosts who run their properties on your PMS and want them on Tatallo.

## Staging first, then production

1. **Staging.** You receive a staging PMS credential (it starts with `tat_stg_sk_`). Staging holds synthetic properties only: a fixture host whose properties match every example in these docs. You never see a real listing on staging.
2. **Production.** After your first successful call on staging, you receive a production PMS credential (it starts with `tat_live_sk_`). In production you see a host's properties only after that host has agreed to connect them to your PMS, and only the properties they connected.

A key works only in its own environment: a staging key is refused by production, and the other way round. See [Authentication](https://tatallo-docs.mintlify.site/get-started/authentication.md).

## How a key reaches you

Every PMS credential is delivered through a **one-time secret link**, never by plain email or chat. Open the link once, store the key in your secrets manager, and the link stops working. Tatallo cannot show the key again: if you lose it, ask for a new one.
